My journey to acupuncture
I came to acupuncture somewhat unexpectedly. Unlike many people, I didn’t seek it out for pain or a specific condition, and I wasn’t particularly stressed or unwell. I simply felt out of sorts — not quite myself — perhaps a matter of the heart, though I couldn’t easily name it.
My response to treatment was immediate and surprising. The sensations were strong and unmistakable — not painful, but deeply felt — as though something was shifting. Afterwards, I slept heavily and woke feeling calmer, more grounded, and more at ease in myself.
That experience stayed with me. It was subtle and profound at the same time, and it opened my curiosity about how acupuncture works and the quiet depth of its effects. A few years later, that curiosity had grown into a commitment, and I undertook three years of formal training in acupuncture, qualifying with distinction from the prestigious TAA academy in Leamington Spa.
Acupuncture works in a subtle but powerful way, supporting the body to settle, regulate, and restore balance — often in ways people feel rather than immediately understand.
